Emmy award-winning DOP/cinematographer with over 30yrs experience in high-end documentary, wildlife, popular factual, drama, commercials and features. Broadcasters include National Geographic, BBC, ITV, C4, and C5 – via independent production companies like Tern, IWC Media, Boundless, JDP, Bigger Bang, Lion Television and Timeline.
I have extensive experience working worldwide and all over the UK especially in Scotlands Highlands and Islands. Glasgow based but can work from anywhere if required. Lighting is an area I have a great deal of expertise in and can light large set ups both with hard and soft sources in everything from studios to caves. I also have a wealth of filming and photography experience in many industrial, commercial and maritime environments having worked on oil rigs, ships, factories, exposed coastlines and underwater. The Arts, Science and factual are also areas I worked in. Aviation I have huge passion for, I've flown over 8900 hours P1 and filmed from many platforms including military Jets, helicopters, experimental aircraft and microlights.
As a freelance cameraman I have a full compliment of high end camera equipment, including DJI Ronin M Gimbal, Camtram tracks, Arri/Dedo/Kinoflo lights, Canon Cine lenses including the CN7, full set of cine primes, compact zooms 15.5-47 & 30-105. Camera formats can include: Red, Panasonic P2, Sony F55, F5, FS7, Photron SA2, Canon C300, C300 mk11, DJI Inspire 2 drone and Arri and 35mm/16mm film.
